The Romans Road – Are You Truly Saved?

The Romans Road – A Road To Salvation

Have you ever lied about anything?

That’s what I thought. Your just like me. For most of us, we have probably lied more than we could count the times. And for some of us it has become a habit. A habit that continues to grow until the truth is revealed somehow or by someone. You ever remember getting caught in a lie? Now that’s one I’m sure most of us would like to soon forget. But unfortunately for all of us, God doesn’t forget. Yep, even those little white lies you told when you were a kid about, “No I didn’t do that”, when you knew you did.  You see, God is all knowing, and ever present, and every lie you have ever told he remembers.

Actually, God knows every sin you have, or are going to ever commit, in your whole life. That’s why he wrote in His Word (The Bible) in Romans 3:10 “There is none righteous, no, not one”.  God’s Word is Truth, so you know what that means don’t ya? We have all sinned. Period. Bar None. No One Righteous, No Not One.

All Have Sinned

God even went on to say in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and came short of the glory of God”. Now do you feel a little better? I mean knowing that all people have sinned? It feels kinda good to know your not alone, huh?

Well, don’t get feeling too good about all that sin my friend, because as we continue to read we find out that there are actual consequences for those sins. We read in Romans 6:23  “For the wages of sin is death…”

So, you probably already were able to guess that though right? I mean when’s the last time you seen anyone escape death permanently? Never. You know why? because God is true to His Word. He said the wages are death. That stinks! right? But… and I do emphasize a really big “But”, the continuation of Romans 6:23 says, “But, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

So, what does that mean in  light of what we already know?

We are all sinners. Were all going to get our wages for our sin, that’s death. But, what about this gift? What’s the deal with this gift?

Eternal life? I bet about right now you might be asking yourself, “How do I get that?” “I want eternal life! Well, if that’s the case, then know this, “It’s a Gift”. That’s right a gift! You know, something someone gives you freely? Something you don’t have to pay for. Now I know your smiling! Me too! God is soo good! He Loves us soo much!

In continuing to read through Romans, we find our next verse in our road, Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”

So, if I’m reading this correctly, if I’m in Christ Jesus I am no longer condemned? Yes! Isn’t that great! So, now you might be asking yourself, “How do I be in Christ Jesus?”

Let’s continue down this road to your salvation in Romans 10:9  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED”.

Confess with my mouth? Believe in my heart? Yes! Let’s read on:

Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”.

So Believe in your heart that Jesus is who He says He Is, and believe He did what the Bible said He did. And then confess it with your mouth!

Is it really that simple to go from death to life? YES! He paid the price for you! Romans 5:8 says “God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. Remember I told you He loved us? Well now you know He really does…He died so you wouldn’t have too.

So, I confess and believe and that’s it?

As you confess and believe, God will continue with you to reveal Himself to you. He wants to have a close personal relationship with You! Stay in His Word, allow His Spirit to guide you, and Pray to Him.

And, just so you know, in case you have any doubts about that confession and belief. Let’s look at the last step in our Romans Road to Salvation my friend. Romans 10: 13 “For Whoesoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”.

Are you a Whosoever?

Yes, You Are!
